Peter van Veen
Director, TI-UK's Business Integrity Programme
Peter is the Director of TI-UK’s Business Integrity Programme. He joined Transparency International from SABMiller where he was responsible for monitoring group strategic risk.
Peter started his career writing economic and political risk reports at the EIU, followed by a stint at Shell’s Group Planning where he worked for the Chief Economist and Chief Political Scientist. He then moved into management consulting working as a strategy consultant for Accenture and SRI Consulting before running the UK operations of a consulting division of Bertelsmann. Subsequently Peter ran his own consultancy focussing on corporate governance, strategy and risk before joining SABMiller.
Peter has a BA in Economics from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, a MA in Latin American Studies from the Institute of Latin American Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Governance and Business Ethics, from Birkbeck, both part of the University of London. Peter is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a member of the European Corporate Governance Institute and a member of the Advisory Board on Supply Chain Integrity for AIM, the European Brands Association.
