Michael John Bloomfield is Departmental Lecturer in Global Governance at Queen Elizabeth House , University of Oxford. His research focuses on global environmental politics with a particular interest in the role of business and civil society actors in the regulation of global commodity chains. His work has appeared in international journals like Environmental Politics and the Journal of Environment and Development . Before completing his PhD at the London School of Economics, Michael served as the Industrial Initiatives Analyst for the Government of the Northwest Territories in Canada and has undertaken consulting work on the environmental management of extractive industries for various development organisations. He is a Research Fellow at the Earth System Governance project and has recently completed a monograph on business agency in global governance. Michael is a member of the Consortium that organises the Seminar.
