Jonathan Michie

Professor of Innovation & Knowledge Exchange, Oxford

Jonathan is Professor of Innovation & Knowledge Exchange at Oxford, where he is Director of the Department for Continuing Education and President of Kellogg – the largest and most international of Oxford’s graduate colleges.

From 2004-2008 Jonathan was Dean of Birmingham Business School and a member of Council at the University of Birmingham, where he was Professor of Management; from 1997-2004 he held the Sainsbury Chair of Management at Birkbeck, University of London where he was Head of the School of Management & Organisational Psychology; and from 1992-1997 he was a University Lecturer in Accounting & Finance at the Judge Business School in Cambridge where he was also a Fellow & Director of Studies in Economics at Robinson College, Director of the ESRC’s Contracts & Competition programme, and a Research Associate of the ESRC Centre for Business Research.

Jonathan is a member of Council of the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS); a member of HEFCE’s Enterprise and Skills Strategic Advisory Committee; a Council member of the Academy of Social Sciences; a Director of Mutuo, a think-tank for the co-operative and mutual sector; and Director of the Oxford Centre for Mutual and Employee-owned Business.
