André has been a banker for the main part of his career mainly working within the corporate banking sphere both in London and South Africa. For the last number of years he focused on alternative service delivery and PPP transactions. André specializes in the support of both the public and private sector, assisting clients with conceptualization, structuring and funding of major infrastructure transactions.
His recent responsibilities included the development of a group-wide (Barclays/Absa Capital) water and sanitation strategy that will enable Absa to participate in the funding of these projects. Water security in Africa is important for both the public and private sectors and numerous clients have embarked upon major initiatives to address the relevant risks. André is also a steering committee member of the Strategic Water Partnership Network in South Africa. The SWPN is a WEF/Water Resources Group and South African Government initiative working towards water security by 2030.
